The first affordable fabricated rearend housings are now available. FAB9TM housings are stronger than stock housings and five pounds lighter! The 3” axle tubes are supported by internal gusset plates built into the case, giving the tubes additional strength. They are fully machined after welding for tighter tolerance, and use studs to mount the third member. Engineered to accept all 9”, Ford-style differentials, each FAB9TM includes a fully welded center section with axle tubes, housing-filler assembly, vent, drain plug, leaf-spring pads, Ford big-bearing, late-model Torino housing ends, and torque-arm brackets installed. Optionally available is a 2-piece, tapered back brace. The triangle formed by the back brace dramatically increases rigidity over unsupported axle tubes. FAB9TM housings can also be ordered as individual components to suit the needs of your special application. Available in mild steel or 4130 chromemoly. The 4130 rearend housings are suggested for vehicles weighing more than 3500 lbs., and/or developing 650-plus horsepower. Please note, the optional back bracing will not work with TCP's G-Bar and Air-Bar suspension systems.
